Home Safety and Home Access Assessments

Home is where the heart is and at MK Health we understand the significant connection between an individual and their home environment. A person’s physical function impacts considerably upon their ability to perform independent activities at home. If a person suffers an injury, disease or disability, their capacity to maintain independence within the home can be greatly impacted. Our clinicians provide comprehensive home safety and home access assessments to address environmental demand and identify risks within the home. Home assessments can be varied in nature and may include shower, kitchen, gardening and mobility assessments. All of our clinicians are certified in the provision of home modifications and have extensive knowledge of the Australian Standards for Design and Access and Mobility Guidelines.

MK Health’s Occupational Therapists are able to modify the home environment through the provision of equipment and home modifications to facilitate safe and independent function within the home.
