Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages, helping them to carry out the activities that they need or want to do in order to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

At MK Health, our experienced and specialised Occupational Therapists are dedicated to breaking down the barriers that hinder individuals from carrying out their day-to-day activities.

Our OTs go beyond solely considering the physical effects of ageing, injury, or disease. They also delve into the psycho-social, community, and environmental factors that influence functional ability.

Our experienced Occupational Therapists aim to identify the reasons behind any limitations in your desired or necessary activities. Depending on your situation, they may assess various areas, including:

  • What you can and cannot do physically e.g. your strength, coordination and balance
  • What you can and cannot do mentally e.g. your memory, organisation skills and coping strategies
  • What materials you need to participate in the occupation e.g. assistive technology, furniture, cooking utensils, clothes and computers
  • The social and emotional support available to you in your home, school, work and community
  • The environment you are having difficulty in e.g. home, school, work or community

MK Health offers Occupational Therapy services in settings that best meet a person’s needs –  whether that be at home, work, a residential care facility or at our Clinic in Unley. We also provide telehealth (phone or video) appointments if you prefer. If you live rurally or remotely please contact our office to discuss service options available.
