DVD Job Dictionaries
A Job Dictionary is a comprehensive document with detailed analysis of all work tasks within an organisation. It is a document that can be tailored to the individual needs of your organisation and will assist you in meeting your obligations under not only the Workers’ Rehabilitation and Compensation Act but also Equal Employment Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination and Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Acts and legislations.
Some of the main benefits of having a Job Dictionary, apart from compliance to the aforementioned Acts and legislation, include;
- Concise information for Treating Medical Practitioners regarding the physical nature of tasks available at the workplace enabling an injured worker's prompt, safe return to work on appropriate productive duties.
- Physical demands for each individual occupation are highlighted so they can then be matched with an individual worker's capabilities.
- Comprehensive, easy to read reference material for managers and supervisors to assist them to identify suitable occupations based on the nature of injury and certified capacity.
- Can be utilised to assist with matching applicants to jobs at the time of pre-employment functional and/or medical assessments.
- Identification of light duties to assist with graduated return to work programs.
- Reduction in ongoing external consultancy and training costs.
- Reduction in workplace incidents, injuries and related costs through risk identification which enables the implementation of preventative strategies.
- Provides basis for the development of Safe Operating Procedures.
- Comprehensive, easy to read reference material for staff in safe manual handling practices and techniques.
- A comprehensive written report which includes all recommendations, photos for graphical representation of tasks and preventative strategies and advice to minimise potential work injuries will be provided.
For added benefit please also enquire about our DVD option which will provide you with all of the above plus a DVD with real footage of the jobs being undertaken. The DVD option allows Treating Medical Practitioners to view a short, but comprehensive video clip of a relevant task or tasks being performed so as to truly illustrate the biomechanics involved. This in turn allows the Medical Practitioner to make a more informed assessment of an injured worker’s ability to return to that task or tasks.
