On-site Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy

Early clinical intervention has been well evidenced to reduce the progression of musculoligamentous injuries and prevent the development of chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Australian WorkCover statistics have illustrated that the majority of workplace injuries are musculoligamentous in nature and are more effectively managed with rapid access to allied health clinical services.

The effectiveness of onsite physiotherapy has been well documented in The Journal of Occupational Medicine and has shown to significantly reduce injury related expenses for medium and large employers. Cost reductions resulted from fewer visits required, less treatment time per visit, reduced absenteeism and decreased travel time (Evolution of On-site Industrial PT Program, Journal of Occupational Medicine, Vol. 35, Oct 1993). Subsequent studies were undertaken in 1994, 1997 and 2001 and the results further documented a significant reduction in injury related costs through the provision of on-site physiotherapy services.
